000361 Technical Pre Sales Team Leader

Job PurposeProvide direct line management and mentoring support to the UK product management technical presales team members.  Ensure close team working with the Managing Director & New Business Development Director and their respective teams in addition to the project management, consultants, central provisioning and finance teams.    Ensure consistent, timely, high levels of quality and standards are being met with proposal delivery. Contribute to wider sales team effort by supporting technical specialist staff on solutions that require more complex design input. Work closely with other pre-sales specialists to make sure deadlines are met on larger opportunities and assist in reviewing documentation when required. Contribute to wider business development function as follows: 50-60% Team management and development20-40% Customer opportunity management10-20% Technical vendor evaluation & relationships Duties and Responsibilities

  • Technical presales team management
  • Key supplier management with CTO
  • Setup RFP / Bid team for proposals agree time scheduling, review points & resource planning
  • Resource planning with service delivery teams (scopes, audits etc.)
  • Allocation of appropriate presales resource to match opportunity requirements
  • Review on boarding information from new clients to ensure issues are processed
  • Support desk based specialists in product knowledge – although that group will report elsewhere
  • Work closely with consultancy team leaders to ensure best commercial returns from TSG delivery
  • Ensure all CRM opportunities are kept up to date and accurate
  • Support AD/BDM on large opportunities
  • Provide cover for applications presales team leader when required
  • Escalation point for technical issues related to solutions
  • Travel & overnight accommodation will be necessary given national nature of role 

Mentoring and Leadership:

  • Possess good team management capability and coaching style
  • Be ready to assist staff remotely or alongside when required and mentor staff to improve capability
  • Show leadership around technical elements of proposals, issue resolution & delivery timescales

Collaboration and Relationships:

  • Work in collaboration with sales teams to ensure best solution fit for customer/TSG
  • Build effective working relationships with key technical/telco stack suppliers alongside CTO
  • Work closely with consultancy team leaders to ensure best commercial returns from TSG delivery 

Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceYour qualifications

  • Educated to degree standard or equivalent
  • Industry standard accreditations for Microsoft, VMware & others in either sales or technical presales certifications would be beneficial 

Your skills & knowledge

  • Should have a detailed knowledge and understanding of both traditional Infrastructure and Cloud platform solutions
  • Comfortable presenting to internal sales teams and clients at any level
  • Ability to manage a UK wide team and improve team efficiency
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong PowerPoint & presentation skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and a broad understanding of client business issues
  • Proactive and highly organised with strong time management and planning skills and proven ability to multi-task  

Your experience

  • Should have over 5 years’ experience in a technical presales role or environment
  • Should have managed technical or presales teams in the past, ideally UK wide
  • Have up to date knowledge of the latest Cloud and Mid-Market technical architecture design
