Senior Telecoms Specialist (Scotland)

Job Purpose:

Deliver incremental business growth through the sale of TSG approved products and services in line with fiscal targets

Reports To:

Head of Telecom /Team Leader


Specialist Sales – Tech & Telecom

Job Dimensions:

No direct reports

Telecom peer group and Technical Specialists within wider team

Collaboration with ADAM and Specialist sales teams

Main Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Achievement of targets as defined throughout the year
  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of TSG Telecom product portfolio
  • Maintain accreditation and training in accordance with role competencies and supplier partner requirements
  • Engage TSG clients and prospects in a consultative manner to identify and advise suitable product solutions and propositions
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge of TSG Guru methodology
  • Provide timely and accurate forecasting throughout the month and quarter
  • Proactive pipeline generation and ADAM generated pipeline qualification
  • Build and maintain a qualified pipeline in accordance with target and conversion levels
  • Production of high quality customer communication and proposal documentation
  • Effective and accurate use of TSG CRM system as an integral component of the sales and business process
  • Undertake all activities in a collaborate manger given relationship between ADAM and Specialist community and multi-silo prospects
  • Professional skills including a solutions based/consultative approach to understanding clients’ needs, pain monetisation, compelling event discovery, controlling the sale and effective negotiation
  • Presentation skills – written and verbal articulation
  • Effective planning and time management
  • Strict adherence to TSG’s sales process, governance and instructions for sales
  • Possess a high degree of self-awareness and appetite for personal development and improvement
  • Actively seek coaching, input and guidance from management and colleagues
  • Preparedness to travel/overnight accommodation given national nature of TSG’s business

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required: 

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

  • Have minimum 5 year experience in customer facing technical sales position [min 3 within Telecom sector]

  • Repeat behavioural competenceis conducive to successful solution sales
  • Solutions based or Consultative sales methodology accomplishment and/or accreditation

Qualifications Required:

 Educated to degree level or appropriate level of experience and success to evidence aptitude for position and demands
