Prevent internet abuse

There are two types of internet abuse:

Staff spending too much time on non work-related internet activity, which costs you time and money
Illegal internet usage, which costs you time, money and maybe a lot more*

*As employer, you are duty bound to ensure that staff do not use the internet for illegal activity from the workplace

Reducing the risk of all types of internet abuse is not as difficult as you might imagine.

Create an IT usage policy for your business
Ensure staff understand and formally accept your IT usage policy
Block access to illegal web sites (there are many thousands and we update this list daily as more and more start up)
Block access to non business-related sites (apart from during lunch hours/break times, if allowed)
Monitor individual internet behaviour to help avoid downloading malware (dangerous) content, like viruses and spyware
