Graham Wylie - Chairman and founder of TSG
Graham was one of Sage’s founder members in 1981, and programmed the original Sage accounts software himself. Following flotation in 1999, as Sage started to develop into an international business, Graham became managing director of Sage UK as well as holding the position of group technical director.
Under Graham’s leadership, Sage UK became market leader in the accounts and payroll software market, with almost one in three of all UK businesses using a Sage product in 2003.
Having retired from Sage, in 2003 Graham established Technology Services Group Ltd (TSG) with the initial acquisition of Newcastle-based IT company Joynsons. TSG provides IT services and support to 10,000 small and medium sized businesses throughout the UK, and has grown to employ 400 staff out of 15 regional offices.
Graham’s contribution to the North East region has been acknowledged by the award of honorary doctorates by both the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and Northumbrian University, and the freedom of the city of Newcastle. In 2003, Graham was honoured by the Queen with the award of a CBE.
In his spare time Graham enjoys watching horse racing and owns a number of racehorses. J Howard Johnson trains the horses from his stables in the North East of England. Graham and Howard have enjoyed a number of successes, including winning the 2004/05 Order of Merit, and a record hattrick of wins in the World Hurdle at Cheltenham with Inglis Drever, Graham's silks have regularly made front page news...all promoting the TSG brand.
David Stonehouse - Chief Executive
David is a Chartered Accountant by training; starting his career and qualifying in London with Arthur Young, returning with them to the North East before moving on to Price Waterhouse where he was a partner for six years.
David entered the commercial world as Finance Director of Sunderland FC, which he took to a full stock market listing in 1996 and later joined Newcastle United PLC as Chief Executive, leaving in 2001. In 2002 he became chairman of NE accountants unw LLP and assisted Parkdean Holidays achieve its AIM listing before becoming a non executive director of that business.
In 2003 David joined Graham Wylie to set up TSG, where he is Chief Executive and oversees all aspects of our services. David heads the executive board and each regional managing director reports to David.
Outside of TSG David’s other current business interests include being a non executive director of AIM listed bus manufacturer Optare PLC and of NE based fund manager Northern Enterprise Limited.
Outside of work, David is a fan of Newcastle United and for enjoyment likes walking, tennis and the company of friends and family.
Duncan Davies - Finance Director
Duncan qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1998. He joined Sage Group plc in 1999 where he spent five years in various finance roles, as Financial Controller for the UK Channel Business.
Duncan moved to TSG in 2004 as its Mergers and Acquisitions Manager, completing the acquisition and integration of 25 businesses in a little over 2 years.
He was appointed to his current role as the Group’s Finance Director in July 2006 and is now responsible for the financial management of TSG as well as retaining overall responsibility for the acquisition of new businesses.
Duncan spends much of his spare time with his two young children and enjoys travelling and watching rugby.
Mark Joynson - Regional Managing Director (North East)
Mark joined the company in October 2003 as a result of the purchase of Gateshead-based IT company, Joynson Ltd, TSG’s first acquisition. He was Joint Managing Director of Joynson Ltd prior to its acquisition and has been in the IT business for over 20 years.
Before taking up the role of Regional Managing Director, Mark was based at TSG in Gosforth as the company’s Commercial Director and was responsible for the management of TSG’s key suppliers.
In his spare time Mark attends St. James Park to follow the fortunes (or misfortunes) of Newcastle United FC as well spending quality time with his family, socialising with friends and travelling abroad.
Tom O’Hara - Regional Managing Director (Scotland)
Working with a team of three other directors to buy an accounting systems business (ISI Group plc), Tom O’Hara became Managing Director, creating one of Scotland’s most successful businesses in the SME marketplace.
In 2004, ISI Group plc was sold to TSG, with Tom being appointed as Regional Managing Director for TSG in Scotland. Following the acquisition of four other businesses, TSG Scotland now employs more than 100 people.
Outside of TSG, Tom is a Governor of Craigholme School for girls and is a father of four. He is a keen supporter of Celtic FC and when he gets the time can be found following wayward golf balls around the golf course.
Jim Henderson - Sales Director
Jim Henderson joined the Board of TSG, as Group Sales Director, on 1 November 2007.
Having lead sales teams within IT services companies from 1986, Jim formed Wentworth Associates, a management consultancy practice specialising within the IT sector, in 2003.
Wentworth Associates provided consultancy and training services to many UK based IT companies before being acquired by TSG in 2007.
Outside of work Jim enjoys golf, rugby, and classical music.
