"Since the deployment of Opera 3 we have enjoyed cost and efficiency savings, improved management information and it’s freed up my time to work on the business."
The customer objectives
The company had worked with the same bespoke software solution for many years, which up until recent years had been more than sufficient for their business requirements.
However, increasing demands from within the business for more real-time, more accessible information, along with the changes in technology and age of the current system had raised uncertainty within the management team at Charles Tennant’s about the continued use of the current bespoke system. Relying heavily on data stored on their system, the business needed a stable platform with a robust support team to handle front line issues. Gary Rainey, Accountant at Charles Tennant adds, "We required modernisation of an aged platform, streamlining processes and gaining efficiency and cost savings.”
They also needed a flexible software solution which would endure business growth, adapt according to change, and above all offer the company improved reporting and business intelligence functionality.
The TSG solution
TSG was enlisted initially by Charles Tennant to install their IT support service SystemCare. The service not only provided the business with peace of mind, it removed the added pressures from Gary, who had often dealt with IT support issues himself.
Gary explains why TSG was selected as IT Partner, “After careful consideration, TSG offered a local single point of contact, along with the strength and size of a large organisation.” With SystemCare working well for the business, and having built a solid relationship with TSG, 18 months on Charles Tennant invited the experts in to tender for a software upgrade.
TSG completed a full audit of the business requests, and identified Pegasus Opera 3 as the best fit – a future proof solution with incredible flexibility. Opera 3 works as a modular solution, with a robust platform and the ability to add various elements as the business grows. Aside from providing the company with a complete business solution with full integration across departments, the upgrade would also offer Charles Tennant the added benefit of a lower annual licence fee – great news for Accountant, Gary.
The benefits to Charles Tennant of using Opera 3
Charles Tennant has a range of reporting and efficiency tools and features which add to the flexibility and power offered by their Pegasus Opera 3 solution.
Speaking of the main benefits to the business, Gary says, "Since the deployment of Opera 3 we have enjoyed cost and efficiency savings, improved management information and it’s freed up my time to work on the business.”
Opera 3 was configured by TSG experts according to the specific requirements of the business, aligning departmental processes for a much more joined up approach. With easy access to data held in one central place, staff have increased knowledge of customer orders, improving distribution efficiency and increasing monthly orders-in turn around.
The future for TSG and Charles Tennant
The Opera 3 system works seamlessly at present for the company, with the advantage of simple modifications in the future, should the need arise.
The business is delighted with the results of their revitalised IT system, and will count on TSG moving forward for advice on improvements and changes. Gary would highly recommend the services of TSG to other businesses confirming, “I have done so already, and happy to do so in the future.”
