TSG implements Microsoft Dynamics NAV and SystemCare 2 for A-Belco
A-Belco Group is a diverse company, trading as A-belco Ltd and MEP Solutions. Offering electrical and mechanical engineering excellence to a wide range of industries and markets worldwide, A-Belco is an established manufacturer universally.
The electrical engineering company has evolved over the last 50 years, with the latest division of the company, MEP Solutions, being launched in 2002. With the introduction of new divisions and developments within the business, the network had grown significantly at A-Belco. The ERP software they were using had been implemented in 1995, and they were rapidly outgrowing its offerings as their demands for functionality intensified.
Alongside improving their ERP solution, A-Belco wanted to look at IT support for the business.
‘We asked our IT supplier at the time, and also TSG what software was available and over the next 12 - 18 months we looked at Sage and NAV’
The customer objectives
After investigating both software applications and how they would help the business, A-Belco decided to go with Microsoft Dynamics NAV supported by TSG, as it suited the specific needs of the company now, with the flexibility to be modified as the business evolves. Eric adds: ‘In the end we chose NAV because of its links to Office, good reporting, ease of use, and also because it was going to be supported by a local company.’
The TSG Solution
On getting the green light from A-Belco, TSG implemented Microsoft Dynamics NAV to help the business streamline processes across the Group, and improve functionality in departments using the industry specific modules. A-Belco has seen great improvements throughout the company since the execution of Dynamics NAV. From invoicing customers and chasing payments, to stock control and distribution, the system is made up of invaluable tools for everyone at A-Belco. As part of the project, TSG replaced the main file server and the back-up hardware, and recommended A-Belco upgrade to SystemCare 2 for added network support.

A-Belco signed up to TSG’s SystemCare 2 IT support package, and opted for Sophos anti-virus software to protect the businesses data. SystemCare 2 support includes on-site visits, telephone helpline, together with a proactive remote monitoring solution. Eric is happy with the service from TSG: ‘I know TSG is a national company covering the UK, but I still like that my support is just down the road and I know if there is a major problem, TSG experts can sort it out quick and professionally.’ Remote monitoring allows TSG to identify problems in the network before they impact on the business. The future for TSG and A-Belco
A-Belco continues to use Microsoft Dynamics NAV successfully within the business. They will look to TSG for advice as and when they require modifications to the software so that it adapts to the changes of the business.
