Technical Services Team Leader
The role of the Technical Services Team Leader is to assist in the activities of their team on a day to day basis as well as to plan, execute, and complete projects their own projects to agreed deadlines and within budget. This includes pre-installation liaison with the client/Salesman to agree objectives, preparing a technical plan and execution of the plan to completion with customer acceptance.
Your responsibilities will include day to day management of Technical Consultants, including 1-1’s and appraisals. You will need to be a key technical escalation point for team members and be responsible for the successful delivery of assigned projects from beginning to end. The role will also involve hardware and software installations based primarily around Microsoft/HP technologies at customer sites that will be around the country.
The ideal candidate will have considerable experience in a similar role, have the ability to delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel, coach, and mentor and motivate team members. You will need to be an effective people manger with strong inter-personal skills and be has the ability to communicate difficult and sensitive information. The ability to manage a number of on-going projects is a strong requirement of this role and ensuring you are aware of new and emerging technologies.
As travel is part of this role, you must obtain a full driving licence.
Although no formal qualifications are essential for this role, the successful candidate should have relevant work related experience, attained a good all-round standard of education and have an excellent knowledge of current IT technologies. Desirable skills and knowledge include MCITP, CCNA, VCP or an equivalent, MS Exchange 2003-2010, MS Lync, Backup Exec and Sophos EndPoint Security Suite.
