Technical Services Team Leader
Job Purpose
The role of the technical services team leader is to assist in the activities of their team on a day-to-day basis as well as to plan, execute and complete their own projects to agreed deadlines and within budget. This includes pre-installation liaison with the client / salesperson to agree objectives, preparing a technical plan and execution of the plan to completion with customer acceptance.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Day-to-day management of technical consultants, including 1-1’s and appraisals
- Act as key technical escalation point for team members
- Be responsible for the successful delivery of assigned projects from beginning to end
- Hardware and software installations based primarily around Microsoft / Hewlett Packard technologies at customer sites primarily within their region but also around the country
- To ensure that at least 50% of their time is on chargeable work
- Maintain awareness of new and emerging technologies
- Work with technical delivery director to identify, prioritise and resource product training and staff development
- Manage day-to-day administration such as expenses and holiday approval for the team
- Participate in transition, RFS and escalation duties where required
Mentoring and Leadership
- Coach and mentor team members to identify their development needs
- Actively increase levels of skills and knowledge of your team and yourself
- Provide and receive quality feedback to / from other team members to aid personal development
Collaboration and Relationships
- With sales / technical specialists and clients to agree objectives for projects
- With project coordinators to help identify any issues that may impact project delivery
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Your qualifications
- Degree level or equivalent
- MCSE, CCNA, VCP or equivalent qualification would be desirable

- Strong inter-personal skills and have the ability to communicate difficult and sensitive information
- Ability to manage a number of on-going projects at any given time and be able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
- Ability to look for ways to improve and promote quality
- Must have a clean or near clean driving licence
