Leading mechanical and electrical contractor H. Malone & Sons has been established since 1926.
The business has worked with a variety of national and local businesses within the North East, including government departments, health authorities and housing associations.
H. Malone & Sons had been an avid user of Office 365 since 2017, however it has since expanded its use past the basic email and Office package functionalities. The organisation met with TSG to discuss a brand-new project which would leverage Office 365 capabilities during an audit of over 2,000 Byker Community Trust properties.
The purpose of the audit was to determine if domestic water systems and heating controls within the selected properties needed to be replaced or improved.
H. Malone & Sons had been contracted to carry out this work on behalf of the Byker Community Trust, a housing association whose properties had previously been managed by the local council. The organisation required an IT solution to track and manage visitation bookings, document approval and installation requests prompted by audit responses.
“TSG SharePoint and Power BI teams guided us through the process with internal workshops and fact-finding meetings to home in on the best design and feel of a bespoke application to capture all the relevant data we need to complete this project. The final app is exactly what we were looking for and is now used extensively by our site operatives to ease their daily workload and capture securely the relevant information required and is all stored in ‘the cloud’. We are almost at the point of achieving the holy grail of a ‘paperless office’ on this project.” - George, IT Manager, H. Malone and Sons
TSG captured H. Malone & Sons’ requirements via a collaborative workshop and produced a bespoke IT solution design which was given the green light by H. Malone & Sons.
Each step is now managed and updated using a mix of Power BI dashboards, SharePoint lists, Flow workflows and PowerApp forms. Each solution syncs to trigger tasks and prompts throughout the process.
