National Golf Winner plays winning round with Westwood

Fresh from his winning performance at Gleneagles with Team Europe at the 2014 Ryder Cup, English golfer Lee Westwood was back at his home from home, Close House in Northumberland, to play a round of golf with our National Golf Competition winner.

Dillon Simpson, from Glenrath Farms a family run free range egg production and marketing company based in Peeblesshire, won the chance after triumphing in TSG’s annual national golf finals earlier this year.

One of the leading suppliers of IT service and support across the UK, TSG hosts regional golf competitions for customers each year with the winners competing at Close House, which is owned by TSG founder Graham Wylie.

The round with Westwood, who is Close House’s touring golf professional, was the prize for the overall national winner.

Dillon, who plays his golf at West Linton Golf Club said: “I’m a keen golfer and having the chance to play here at Close House again only two weeks after winning the final here is a fantastic opportunity. I’ve loved playing the course here, but to go around “The Lee Westwood Colt Course” with Lee Westwood himself was something else!”

The prize-winning round of golf was played as part of Close House’s annual Founders’ Day competition and Dillon was followed around by his family for additional support.

“The whole day at Close House was an incredible experience” Dillon added. “Lee was such a great sportsman, down to earth and had some great stories following The Ryder Cup victory.”

Karen Campbell, Director at Glenrath Farms who was also present at the final said “The whole competition has been superb from start to finish. TSG really look after their customers which makes us all feel really valued. That’s why we initially chose TSG to provide our business software and IT support service”.

Alan Turnbull, managing director of TSG in Scotland, added: “Our national competition is becoming more and more competitive with regional pride at stake.

“Dillon beat some great amateur players among our clients to win our regional contest and we are delighted that he went on to win the national final and, as his prize, enjoy a round with one of golf’s greats.”
