I joined TSG in 2007 as a Sales Graduate in an internal Account management role. I had just left the University of Glasgow after completing my (highly relevant) English Literature Degree. I had paid my way through my studies with a sales role in a national bank, and had decided to pursue a career in sales; rather than waste my life as a penniless author.
It was important to me that I joined a company that recognised my ambitions, and supported me in my progression to Account Manager through mentoring and training with a relaxed but hard working ethos. I was also keen to have a large and varied product stack that would give me more opportunities to engage with my customers, as well as keep me interested over the years.
TSG ticked all the boxes and since I started in April 2007, it has been a whirlwind journey. I progressed to Junior Account Manager, and onto full Account Manager within 18 months. Following the change in the sales structure in April 2012, I opted to specialise in the Pegasus Silo. As a Pegasus Senior Specialist I am responsible for engaging with existing and new clients to demonstrate, recommend and sell the Pegasus suite of products.
I really enjoy my work; regularly enraging my better half by staying late in the office to meet a deadline, or by giving her a blow-by-blow account of my latest client visit. I also work with a great team of highly dedicated and outgoing colleagues who are always up for a bit of banter or a night out, which certainly helps keeps your spirits up when a hectic month (yet to see one that isn’t) draws to a close!
Overall, TSG is a fast-paced and rewarding place to work, which offers real opportunities to those looking for a challenge.
