Godfrey Syrett invests in technology to enable further growth

Leading North East-based furniture designer and manufacturer Godfrey Syrett has entrusted its IT support and services to TSG in order to focus on long-term sustainable growth.

The business is committed to achieving transformation through technology, having recently invested £1.5 million in manufacturing technologies.

As part of this new venture, TSG will maintain Godfrey Syrett’s infrastructure and support its end users, as well as provide proactive on-site support through our innovative SystemCare offering.

In addition, TSG will be supporting Godfrey Syrett’s existing Office 365 solution, providing support and advice on how to get the most out of this transformational technology.

By outsourcing its IT provision to TSG, Godfrey Syrett will be able to fully focus on achieving its ambitious growth targets without worrying about its infrastructure. TSG also brings a bigger support network and skillset to Godfrey Syrett than an in-house IT team could offer.

David Brown, IT Manager at Godfrey Syrett, said of the decision to outsource the business’ IT:

“With the rapid pace of technological and digital change, it was clear that it would be beneficial to outsource our IT to a well-known and trusted IT provider rather than trying to manage this ever-changing landscape using an in-house model.”

TSG is also working with Godfrey Syrett on a long-term strategy to futureproof its infrastructure and underpin business continuity and disaster recovery. This further demonstrates Godfrey Syrett’s commitment to using technology to enable long-term transformation and growth.

On the decision to work with TSG, Mr Brown further commented: “TSG demonstrated that they had the expertise required to help deliver and expand our IT strategy and support the business today, as well as assisting us with our future growth plans.

TSG has already provided Godfrey Syrett with some real tangible benefits from the initial take-on visits and pro-active monitoring, which has helped scope what our future IT landscape should look like. We are now working closely with them to finalise and implement this.”

TSG is excited to be working on this project with such an innovative business, especially one that also has its roots in the North East. Our Chief Technology Officer Paul Burns says of the partnership:

“Manufacturing plays such an important role in our economy, so it’s fantastic to be working with an ambitious, forward-thinking company in Godfrey Syrett.

“Outsourcing their technology services to TSG means they can be fully focused on expansion and growth.

“They’ll also benefit from the expertise and best practice we can bring to the table, to help them futureproof and add resilience to their systems by migrating to hybrid cloud solutions. It’s a direction that many of our customers are taking.”

For many businesses, IT and technology are still perceived as a burden or an unnecessary cost. However, as Godfrey Syrett is demonstrating, technology is now an enabler of true digital transformation.
