Success at Housing Technology 2019

Last week, TSG was thrilled to return to the Housing Technology conference for a second year.

The conference, which took place on 6^th & 7^th March, champions the importance of how the UK’s social housing providers can use technology to improve their business operations and tenants’ lives.

It is now the leading and longest-running technology event for senior IT and business decision-makers in the UK social housing sector.

At TSG, we work with housing associations of all sizes across the broadest range of technologies.

Our understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced within the sector have been built on a strong partnership approach with organisations including Home Group, Vivid and GreenSquare.

The conference gave our team of housing sector experts the opportunity to demonstrate the ground-breaking work we’ve undertaken to connect Microsoft SharePoint with all of the major housing management systems, unlocking additional value for many housing associations from their investment in Office 365.

TSG’s stand drew a lot of attention at the event, featuring a hidden message revealed only with 3D glasses, to tie together our ‘Hidden Treasures’ theme relating to the available potential within Office 365.

Day one was jam-packed with knowledge-sharing, meeting existing clients and new faces, and taking in the eclectic schedule of talks covering the most relevant topics for the housing sector.

Office 365, and its integration options with existing systems, was undoubtedly the hot topic of conversation, with Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement also appearing high on the agenda. TSG’s Microsoft Solution Strategist Tony Hughes said, “With more housing associations building new properties and providing aftercare, the demand for this type of product has notably risen when, previously, it was a no-go area for many.

“TSG has a depth of understanding within the housing sector and is well-equipped with the knowledge and expertise to adapt to change and provide the right solutions to meet these needs.”

Scratchcards were also available on the TSG stand for visitors to pick up, offering a chance to win one of four fantastic prizes.

Two lucky winners were awarded their goodies on the first day of the event; Jane from Metropolitan Thames Valley bagged a £20 Amazon voucher, whilst Owain Morris from Grŵp Cynefin took home a Fortnum & Mason hamper!

The second day of the event saw a third winner, Jane Martin from CHP, taking a chocolate hamper, just in time for TSG’s Office 365 guru Tony Hughes to deliver an informative presentation alongside Senior Marketing Manager Stephen Green, demonstrating real-life examples of our innovative work within the UK housing association sector and sharing their ‘pearls of wisdom’ of the extensive capabilities available within Office 365.

Tony added, “It was great to see so many people engaged with the real-life solutions we demonstrated, using innovative tools within the Office 365 suite such as PowerApps, Flow, SharePoint and Power BI. Feedback from the audience assured me that the housing sector is able to find comfort in the capability of Office 365 as a reliable platform for building applications going forward.”

In true TSG style, our experts couldn’t help but incorporate some fun into the presentation and a little challenge for the packed-out audience. The remaining scratchcards were given to those who could answer clues hinting towards the names of some of the leading housing associations we have worked with. Then commenced the ‘Great British Scratch Off’, resulting in a final winner of a bottle of bubbly!
