TSG Celebrates 10th Anniversary
Hundreds of employees from across the country gathered at St James’ Park to celebrate TSG’s 10th anniversary.
Festivities included an exclusive walk from the players’ entrance through the famous tunnel to echoes of Local Hero, a mascots race and childhood memories with table football, racing simulators, a huge Scalextric track and a life size version of the board game ‘Operation’.
Leading IT services company, TSG was launched in the North East in 2003 and now has 14 offices covering all areas of the UK.
CEO David Stonehouse took the opportunity to review the impressive growth of the business and outline prospects for a bright future, “From the outset our vision was to be the number one IT service and solutions partner for UK SMEs.”
“In a highly fragmented industry, we’ve succeeded in developing a comprehensive offering and a coherent team all working together to deliver great service for our customers.”
“I’m delighted that we’ve been able to bring everyone together this evening because they’re central to our success and represent more than 5,000 man years of IT experience between them. As the market polarises, their experience is invaluable. On the one hand there’s increasing demand for specialised applications and on the other many businesses just want off-the-shelf solutions that will do the job without complication.”
“That’s why we’re investing heavily in R & D; as much as some of our competitors turnover, in fact. Bundled and template cloud-based solutions will form a key part of what we can offer smaller SMEs and we’re close to launching our ‘Tribe’ membership relationship management product that will revolutionise business process for professional bodies, trade associations, sports clubs and the like.”
Building critical mass across the UK and developing an end-to-end service has been central to TSG’s success. As the market evolves and the boundaries become increasingly blurred between different areas of technologies, the recent addition of telecoms expertise means that TSG are well placed to look after everything from connectivity to sophisticated business applications.
Customer service remains a key focus for the 450 strong team who deliver more than 17,000 project days each year across a customer base of 4,000 and respond to 11,500 support calls every month including 10,500 calls a year taken outside office hours.
Simon Jenkinson, TSG’s intriguingly titled Chief Architect, who made the journey from the Loughborough office said, “TSG is an awesome company to work for. On a night like this you really do feel a sense of belonging.”
“It’s always great to meet up with colleagues from other parts of the UK and the organisers have really pushed the boat out to make us feel special and valued.”
