TSG’s Senior BI Consultant gains Qlik Luminary status

TSG is delighted to announce that our Senior Business Intelligence Consultant, Carl Hunter, has earned the prestigious status of Qlik Luminary.

According to TSG’s BI partner, Qlik, “Qlik Luminaries are selected for their expert use of Qlik technologies and track record of accomplishments across data analytics.

“Representing Qlik’s global user base of customers, partners and individual fanatics, the 2020 Luminary class is made up of business leaders, master developers, risk-takers, rebels, lone wolves and industry visionaries who possess unique perspectives – and thrive on sharing those ideas.”

Becoming a Qlik Luminary involves submitting an application that demonstrates how the candidate goes above and beyond in delivering outstanding BI solutions and sharing knowledge within the community and with customers.

As a co-organiser of the Newcastle Qlik Meetup and an active voice in the Qlik Twitter community – check out Carl’s Twitter profile to see the kinds of insights he shares – it was clear that Carl was a frontrunner amongst hundreds of applications from around the world.

Carl says of his inclusion, “I’m over the moon to be asked to join the Qlik Luminary class of 2020. I started with QlikView Desktop as a side project way back in 2012 and have always had a passion for data and analytics.

“Joining TSG in 2017 allowed me to do BI as a full-time career, however I never thought that in only a few years, I’d be part of the Qlik Luminary group! It’s so exciting to be part of a cohort of over 100 of the best Qlik experts from all over the world, sharing knowledge, improving our skills and collaborating with Qlik.”

The Qlik Luminary class of 2020 status isn’t simply about recognising the leading Qlik experts for their hard work. It also brings tangible benefits for customers of TSG.

Carl continues, “A great benefit of my Qlik Luminary status for TSG’s customers is the ability to give feedback directly to Qlik’s product management and R&D teams, so it’s like having a secret line to senior Qlikkies!

“This means that any feedback from our customers and the wider TSG BI team can be collated and fed into Qlik’s product development cycle. It’s really exciting knowing we can shape Qlik’s products and solutions based on our own customers’ requirements.

“I’ve already been asked to give feedback on Qlik Cloud Services. Interestingly, TSG was one of the earlier partner adopters of Qlik Cloud Services, so we already have plenty to say! Exciting times ahead for Qlik at TSG!”

Carl joins a group of over 100 Qlik and BI experts, with representation of some of the UK’s biggest and most well-known employers including the NHS, Cabinet Office, Forbidden Planet, Lloyds, Nationwide and Avon.

In addition to recognition as a Qlik visionary and the ability to directly influence Qlik’s products and solutions, Carl will also have access to exclusive product briefings to get insights on future products and developments and Qlik’s strategic initiatives. A complimentary subscription to Qlik Continuous Classroom is also provided to ensure Carl and the BI team at TSG are constantly pushing the boundaries with their skills and knowledge to help our customers get value from their data.

Congratulations to Carl from everyone at TSG!
