Energetics works with the UK's leading housebuilders, construction firms and independent consulting companies, providing utility services to new residential and commercial developments.
The company's utility engineering and construction teams have worked on a range of major projects throughout the country, including Manchester's broadcasting hub MediaCity UK and the contemporary Birmingham New Street Station.
From design to connection, Energetics offer a 'one-top-shop' multi utility connection service, getting electricity, gas, water and telecommunications networks connected to new developments across the UK.
Paper-based systems, being used to inform Energetics' field engineers of installation requirements and timesheet data, needed to be digitised to reduce the amount of time information spent flowing between the field and office-based staff.
Due to the manual nature of the process, errors were common and time-consuming data re-entry was required to update the company's Microsoft ERP solution. Often, information could take many days or even weeks to be communicated, therefore, Energetics requried an innovative solution to streamline this process.
SharePoint and PowerApps from Microsoft were incorporated to create a sleek and accessible platform, allowing information to flow seamlessly between the field and office-based staff and integrating directly with the Microsoft Dynamics NAV system.
SharePoint lists synchronised to the Microsoft NAV data are presented to the field-based users in a user-friendly PowerApps interface, providing them with the information they need to complete their allocated jobs right at their fingertips on a mobile device.
In return, field-based users are able to confirm the job details and make any necessary updates to time and material usage on completion of a job. Upon editing the data in PowerApps, the associated SharePoint lists sync back to the core NAV system, greatly reducing the need for manual data re-entry.
