We’re excited to announce major updates to our Sage Intacct offering for schools and multi-academy trusts, including a rebuilt IMP integration for existing customers and new automation features designed to address budget management challenges and compliance reporting requirements in education finance.
Multi-academy trusts can now experience enhanced, reliable budget management with the rebuilt IMP integration for Sage Intacct. The integration gives you control over scheduling actuals and budgets.
The integration rebuild was just the starting point. Additional features address what MATs and schools identified as their biggest finance operation challenges. The result is a Sage Intacct offering designed specifically for how education finance actually works.
Rebuilt IMP Integration Plus Education-Specific Enhancements
The rebuilt integration gives you control over scheduling actuals and budgets, with a direct reporting channel to developers when you need support.
The integration rebuild was the starting point. Additional features address specific MAT requirements:
Standardised Academy Reporting
Every new Sage Intacct deployment for education customers now includes a standardised set of reports developed from five years of working closely with MATs and academies. These use the DfE chart of accounts and deliver budget vs actuals, commitments, and core financial reports as standard configuration.
For your finance team, this means consistent reporting across your trust without spending implementation budget building reports from scratch. The reports address the specific tracking and visibility requirements you face when managing multiple school budgets and reporting to trustees.
DfE Academy Accounts Return Automation
This tool automates the annual DfE return directly from your finance system. The tool addresses the weeks of manual data compilation that education finance teams face every January, reducing both the time required and the external accountant costs typically associated with year-end compliance.
What the Updates Address
If you're managing a multi-academy trust, you face specific finance challenges: managing restricted and unrestricted funds across multiple schools, tracking expenditure against DfE requirements, and providing auditors with clear visibility while consolidating financial information across entities with different funding streams.
The updates target these requirements directly. Standardised reporting matches education accounting standards and trustee reporting needs. Automated compliance reporting reduces manual compilation work.
Why TSG Built These Features
When market-leading Sage education software firm Dayta joined TSG, the combined team gained deep education sector knowledge. We invested in that expertise through increased certifications across the consulting team and strengthened accounting capabilities. The team improved how customer feedback gets gathered and turned into product development.
These features exist because education finance teams identified specific needs. The Dayta team brought sector understanding. We brought development resources and a track record of building reliable technology solutions. The combination has delivered improvements that education customers requested.
The education finance software market is competitive. These updates reflect TSG's focus on building solutions based on direct customer feedback rather than assumed requirements.
What's Coming Next?
TSG is currently working on another new feature: PunchOut Procurement. This means direct purchasing from Amazon routes orders into Sage Intacct for approval, with additional education suppliers planned for future integration.
This feature will address procurement complexity in schools, where purchasing patterns differ significantly from corporate environments. Orders flow through appropriate approval chains while maintaining audit trails without requiring enterprise-level procurement systems.
See the Features in Action
TSG is running a webinar where you can see how the rebuilt IMP integration works, experience how straightforward it is to send off your Academy Accounts Return and explore the Education standardised reporting templates in action.
