Field service solution for HPR

The company

Based in the north east, Historic Property Restoration (HPR) prides itself on the quality and attention to detail of its experienced and skilled craftsmen.

The business offer a range of services throughout most of England and the Scottish Borders, repairing and conserving everything from ancient monuments to listed buildings, castles and parks.

The challenge

HPR identified that outdated, paper-based systems were preventing a large portion of its workforce from operating effectively.

These site-based operatives required a modern solution to better suit their mobile way of working and to cut down on unnecessary time spent on-site processing paperwork.

With the focus of HPR's strategy steered towards enhancing the mobile environment of its site-based operatives, and a recently-won contract with the English Heritage Trust driving the need for optimal efficiency, the business needed a solution equipped to manage a significant number of tasks at multiple sites across the UK.

The solution

HPR was already familar with SharePoint, but a strategic move to cloud-based technology allowed the business to migrate to SharePoint Online and utilise the powerful tools available in the Office 365 suite.

With a focus on empowering HPR's mobile workforce, TSG's PowerApps experts used the innovative application to build an agile workflow system, designed to give managers the ability to easily assign tasks to site-based operatives. The global task lists are held in SharePoint's secure environment and delivered in a digital format, ready to view on a tablet version of the PowerApp.

The intuitive application gives HPR's site-workers the power to view, monitor and update tasks from remote locations, with any changes made automatically feeding into the core system; updating monthly reports and payments based on the new information.

The new system delivered by TSG has dramatically impacted end-to-end job management, removing mountains of physical paperwork and accelerating the invoicing cycle, as well as allowing HPR's people to operate effectively no matter where they may be based that day.
