Getting involved in the community to help others

Honoured to support The British Heart Foundation

TSG is privileged to have worked with many charities over the years with our generous team having raised essential and substantial funds for those in need.

Chosen charity

Our chosen charity (2015-2018), The British Heart Foundation, is the nation’s heart charity and the largest independent funder of cardiovascular research. Their pioneering research has aided in the transformation of the lives of people living with heart and circulatory conditions.

Team TSG elected The British Heart Foundation, based on a companywide voting system. We all strongly believe in the outstanding work the charity does and its pioneering research. We are very pleased to be able to support it on its journey.

You can visit TSG’s Just Giving page if you'd like to keep updated with how much we've raised for this fantastic charity.

Our CEO David Stonehouse on the British Heart Foundation:

“It’s so important for us as an organisation to support and give back to charity on a regional and national scale. We are very lucky to have such supportive and passionate staff at TSG who support charity days and different sporting events, with great enthusiasm, in order to raise much needed funds. We are proud to support the British Heart Foundation here at TSG as our chosen charity and we admire and fully support the work the charity does and the people it helps.”

Team TSG is a lively and enthusiastic bunch and we like nothing better than rolling up our sleeves and getting stuck in.

Our team has participated in a number of sporting events from The Great North Run to the London Marathon.

We also take part in national charity days such as Children in Need, Sports Relief, Comic Relief, and Wear It Pink.

We also like to get into the Christmas spirit and show off our creativity with our Christmas jumper day and in the process raise much needed funds for Maggie’s Hospice.

TSG was also honoured to support the Children’s Heart Unit Fund (CHUF) for a number of years, partaking in a plethora of events and activities to raise significant funds for the charity.

Our Founder Graham Wylie launched the Graham Wylie Foundation in early 2016.

The aim of the charity is to help, educate and inspire vulnerable and underprivileged children and young people across the north east.

Volunteering Days

Team TSG colleagues are also encouraged to take advantage of 2 days on full pay each year in order to undertake voluntary work for charity.

This means our team can work in a charity store, complete a sponsored activity, take part in events and fundraising and so on, meaning they can really make a difference and gain a new experience on the front line at the same time.

Our team often works in larger groups in order to have the greatest impact and offer much needed support and funds.

TSG encourages staff to donate blood where possible and offers paid time away from work in order to make this a reality. Blood donation is extremely important; the Give Blood campaign needs over 6,000 blood donations every day in order to treat patients all over the UK.
